Integrating design thinking in the STEAM mindset.
This was a STEAM challenge, in which students had to build a working compass.
1.Students were given an iPad to scan a barcode to access the instructions.
2.Students magnetized the needle by rubbing it with the magnet.
3.Pushed the needle in the wax paper.
4.Place needle and wax paper on the surface of the water to remove friction.
Result: The earth’s magnetic field pulls at the opposite poles of the needle.
